John McGuire was born before 1765 in Augusta Co, VA and died before April 1825.

John was wounded in the Battle of Point Pleasant.

He married Elizabeth Cottle. She was the daughter of William Uriah Cottle and Elizabeth.

Their children were:

Ann McGuire (born 20 October 1779 in VA); married Samuel Waugh
